Engines

A landing engine spends most of its life far from full thrust. Our injector work is aimed at exactly that — stable combustion across a deep throttle range.

Projects

In development

ICICLE

Our next‑generation engine and the flight powerplant for Icarus. ICICLE takes everything RUDy teaches us about deep throttling and packages it into a flight-weight LOX/kerosene engine that can hover a rocket — and set it down gently.

Operational

RUDy

Our engine testbed and workhorse. RUDy exists to prove injectors: a pintle injector in the lineage of landing engines before it, and a continuously variable area injector that adjusts its flow area on the fly to hold injection performance across the throttle range. Every design iteration goes to the stand on Monolith.
